BL4 espresso blend, medium roast
This nutty medium roast espresso blend has been with us from the very beginning. It's easy to brew, is great as a pure espresso shot and makes an awesome flat white. Hazelnutty, malty notes, dark cherry flavors and some grapefruit, green apple and blackberry aromas pair with dark chocolate and cinnamon flavors.
Red grape, dark cherry, malt notes, grapefruit, cinnamon, green apples, blackberry, dark chocolate flavors. A nicely balanced medium roast espresso blend.
Brewing advice for a double espresso on portafilter machines:
- Coffee grounds: 19 g / 0,67 oz
- Water temp: 92 °C / 197,6 °F
- Shot time: 30 sec
- Beverage weight: 38 g / 1,34 oz
- Distribute grounds evenly to avoid channeling.
- Grind coarser for a quicker shot and diminished bitterness.
- Use filtered water for better results.
- Beans should degas 6 days from the roast date.

Part 1: 5 % Mandheling, Indonesia, Sumatra - semi-washed, grade 1, organic
Sumatra Mandheling is grown on the lofty, volcanic slopes of Mount Leuser, near the port of Padang in west-central Sumatra 900-1600 meters above sea level. The coffee is wet-hulled and sun-dried which is the traditional Sumatran method of coffee processing called "Giling bashah". In the cup it has a medium to rich body, a winey acidity, herbal and spicy notes with flavors of chocolate and sweet tobacco.
Part 2: 10 % Yirgacheffe, Kochere, Ethiopia - Heirloom, washed:
This washed Yirgacheffe Kochere Grade 2 Arabica coffee was collected at the Boji Washing Station.
It grew at 1.810 m above sea level on fertile and sandy loam and has a recognizable district character flavor that is known for exceptional citrus and floral flavors.
The climate is „Woina dega“ and „Dega“ with a good rainfall distribution. „Woina dega“ (subtropical zone) includes the highland areas of 1.830 – 2.440 metres in elevation and has an average annual temperature of about 22 degrees Celsius with an annual rainfall between 510 and 1.530 millimetres. „Dega“ (cool zone) is above 2.440 metres in elevation with an average annual temperature of about 16 degree Celsius and an annual rainfall between 1.270 and 1.280 millimetres.
Part 3: 85% Fazenda Sertãozinho, Brazil, natural
This natural processed coffee from Fazenda Sertãozinho in the region Sul de Minas in Brazil is a Yellow Bourbon, Mundo Novo variety. It was grown 1.000-1.300 meters above sea level. On this farm every step from planting to drying is done by hand. This coffee is known for its sweetness, chocolate notes and hints of fruitiness.
